Thomas P. Maloney, Senior Consultant, has over forty years of progressive law enforcement experience in State and Municipal government.  He has a broad and notable background ranging from Patrol Officer to Police Chief.  In 1970, Mr. Maloney joined the Boston Police Department, after serving four years in the United States Army - Military Police Corps.  Mr. Maloney served as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Supervisor and Director of the Neighborhood Responsive Policing Program in the South End and Back Bay sections of the City of Boston.

In 1985, Mr. Maloney was recruited, by then Chief William J. Bratton, to join the Transit Police as the Deputy Chief of Operations.  He was appointed Chief of Police for the Transit Police Department a year later.  Under Chief Maloney's guidance and leadership, the Transit Police was awarded the distinction as the First Transit Police Agency in the United States to become accredited, as well as the First Police Department in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to become accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement in 1991.

Mr. Maloney returned to the Boston Police Department where he has held the following Command Staff positions: Superintendent ~ Chief of the Bureau of Field Services, responsible for the day to day delivery of Uniformed Police Service to the citizens of the City of Boston, and Superintendent ~ Chief of the Bureau of Administrative Services, responsible for Human Resources, Finance, Procurement and Fleet Maintenance.  Mr. Maloney also has an extensive background in Criminal and Sexual Assault Investigations. He served as a Senior Supervisor in the Sexual Assault unit for 12 years, where he led the DNA Back Log Reduction Program for Sexual Assault Cases (CODIS) that required the review of over 1000 unknown-suspect sexual assault cases.

Mr. Maloney recently retired, after fourty two years from the Boston Police Department, as the Commanding Officer of the Crime Scene Response Unit, which is responsible for the identification, documentation, collection, and preservation of evidence at crime scenes.

Mr. Maloney holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Suffolk University.
