Athena Yerganian, M.B.A., is the Founder and CEO of Innovative Management Consulting, Inc. For the past 30 years, she has worked with the best minds in American Policing, playing an important role in the success of their organizations. A career Law Enforcement Technologist, she began as a crime analyst, at a time when the title barely had a job description. Her responsibilities expanded and focused on police operations and policy writing. Her inquisitiveness gave her the confidence to reach beyond the status quo and create the first Microsoft Windows based software management tools for Law Enforcement in Massachusetts. She most recently served in leadership roles as the CIO for Major City Police Departments.

Ms. Yerganian is a protege of New York City Police Commissioner William J. Bratton. In 1986, Chief Bratton recruited her to join him at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Police Department. She continued to work with him in other Boston, New York and Los Angeles police departments, as he successfully became the preeminent leader in American Policing. Together, they developed the forerunner to CompStat, which began as a data-driven review of internal issues and crime statistics, while working at the Massachusetts Metropolitan Police in the late 1980's. The NYPD Team, spear-headed by Jack Maples, developed it into the Performance Management Process called CompStat.

Early on, Ms. Yerganian recognized the need for American Policing to better utilize the data that was being gathered. Today, CrimeAtlasTM, designed and developed by Ms. Yerganian, pushes near-real time, and valuable information to all Officers - from Police Chiefs through the ranks to Patrol Officers.

Ms. Yerganian has held the leadership roles of Bureau Chief and Chief Information (Technology) Officer for the Los Angeles Police Department and Boston Police Department. She was the first female CIO for the LAPD and the first female civilain CIO in Boston. In 2003, she was the first to introduce "smartphones" to the Law Enforcement Community. In addition, she has worked for and partnered with over 30 Law Enforcement and Public Safety Agencies including Corporate Security, Emergency Management, Local, Municipal, Transit, Park, Campus, and State Police Departments.

Her expertise expands into Campus Police Departments of Public Safety. She has been involved in Evaluation and Risk/Threat Assessment Teams at a number of Campuses, which review issues such as Officer interaction with the Campus Community, perimeter security, officer performance, and technology which includes radio communications and social media.

Ms. Yerganian is a graduate of The Boston Latin School, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Wellesley College, and a Master of Business Administration from the Simmons College Graduate School of Management.
