Although this book is not directly associated with CrimeAtlas, Ms. Yerganian is proud have been asked to work on this project, as an Editor of the book.

Ms. Yerganian assisted Sgt. Dana Owen, Retired - Massachusetts State Police, write, edit and publish his book called SHOTGUNNED.

It is not a typical cop memoir. Sgt. Owen tells the true story of how he pursued a hijacked U.S. Postal truck - with a hostage inside. During the chase, he was shot in the head...twice. He recounts the chase, the shooting and how he unofficially joined the investigation to identify the suspects. Just before the statute of limitations was about to expire, he was officially assigned to the case. We learn whether the gang members, involved in other unprosecuted robberies and murders, will be prosecuted for their crimes against Dana. Woven into the main theme are vignettes, describing other experiences as a cop, one particularly touching, unrelated to the search for these felons.

In addition, one of the chapter’s was penned by his wife, Sandy. She was asked for the first time, during the writing of this book thirty-seven years after Dana’s shooting, to share her thoughts of that terrible night.

After serving as a Police Officer for 27 years, Dana retired as a Sergeant and the Armorer for the Massachusetts State Police in 1997. He had served the Massachusetts Metropolitan District Commission Police Department (MDC) from 1970 to 1992, and received the Metropolitan Police Medal of Valor for Bravery.

The book - SHOTGUNNED - can be found on Amazon.com. All of the proceeds go to Sgt. Owen.
